As more decisions and resources move closer to communities, understanding local priorities and how best to respond to them is becoming increasingly important.
Our work in these areas continues to develop, and we're bringing people into the team who can help us support the leaders, organisations and communities we work alongside.
We're pleased to welcome James to The Change Arc as our new Project and Engagement Coordinator. He first got in touch with us through our call-out for talent, which invited people who share our values and are interested in our work to start a conversation.
James brings experience in politics and civic engagement, having previously worked for local leaders, charities and civic groups. His previous roles include working for Warrington North MP Charlotte Nichols and on Dan Price's mayoral campaign in Cheshire and Warrington.
Through campaigns and local initiatives like Pride in Place, James has gained an understanding of the challenges facing residents, the importance of listening to what people need and why local decisions and resources should reflect their priorities.
James is particularly passionate about making sure people feel heard and strengthening trust. His organisational skills and ability to work with different people will be valuable as he gets involved in our projects.
Rob Griffiths, Co-Founder of The Change Arc, said:
“James understands the importance of listening to people and building trust. He brings experience of working with local leaders who are getting closer to their communities and have a real commitment to making a difference. We're really pleased to have him on board and look forward to working with him.”
In James’ own words:
“I'm really excited to be joining The Change Arc and having the opportunity to work with and learn from the team. I'm looking forward to working with local people across a range of interesting projects to help deliver on their priorities by building trusted relationships.”
We look forward to the contribution James will make as we continue our work with people and places across the UK.
If you're working to build stronger relationships with communities and make progress on local priorities, we'd welcome a conversation.
